Bridges for Change
A bold, new interdisciplinary faculty initiative to confront antisemitism and create a center for open inquiry.
A Smarter Way to Fight Antisemitism
A university is meant to be a place of open inquiry, intellectual rigor, and fearless debate. But across today’s campuses, those ideals are under pressure from ideological conformity, the side-lining of dissenting voices, and growing self-censorship.
This climate came into sharp focus after the Hamas attacks of October 7, when antisemitism surged globally and on campus. Jewish students, faculty, and staff found themselves isolated, facing hostility, and witnessing the normalization of anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric in classrooms, student groups, and even some official spaces.
Bridges for Change is confronting the ideological root causes of campus antisemitism by building a center that goes beyond merely reacting to narrow-minded thinking and hate. It is offering something better in its place.
